Lake Shore Cryotronics, a DwyerOmega brand, will be at next week’s Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC) exhibition in Pittsburgh, PA, showcasing products for cryogenic sensing, control, and cooling as well as the M81-SSM system for material and device characterization.
On display in Booth 509 will be:
- The Model 346 controller featuring 10 sensor inputs (expandable to 26 with option cards), 300 mK to 1,505 K temperature control, and four 100 W heater outputs that deliver a total of 400 W of power, enabling faster warmup
- 240 Series 2- and 8-input sensor modules for precise remote monitoring of cryogenic sensors in superconducting applications employing PLC-based control, with circuitry that allows for module-sensor cable runs up to 300 m (984 ft), and now offering expanded RS-485 communication options
- The CCS-100 closed-cycle optical cryostat for <4 K to 325 K cryogen-free cooling
- Various Lake Shore cryogenic temperature sensors, including Cernox®, silicon diode, and platinum sensors
- An M81-SSM synchronous source measure instrument and SMU-10 modules, which offer DC and AC capabilities with integrated lock-in detection for low-level superconducting material characterization applications
Also relating to the M81-SSM, Lake Shore Engineering Technologist Tom Farish will be presenting a poster on the use of the system for “Broadband AC Susceptibility Measurements of High Temperature Superconductors” (2:30 to 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the exhibit hall). This research, co-authored by Lake Shore’s Brad Dodrill, Thomas Bapu, and David Daughton, details an approach that provides a foundation for future work aimed at understanding slow vortex processes and AC loss mechanisms under conditions relevant to applied superconductivity.
