FHT-ST Flexible Helium Transfer Line SuperTran

These FHT-ST replacement  SuperTran or SuperTran-VP cryostat high-efficiency transfer lines include a built-in flow valve and a charcoal cryopump. These transfer lines are optimized for use with continuous flow style cryostats and are not suitable for transferring large volumes of liquid helium.

FHT-ST-25-56

Continuous flow flexible liquid helium transfer line for use with ST-500 cryostats and ST-500-based probe stations, including:

  • 20 in long, 0.25 in diameter delivery leg
  • 56 in long, 0.5 in diameter withdrawal leg
  • 72 in flexible section and 0.06 in OD inner helium line
  • Vent hole in withdrawal leg 33 in from end to prevent Taconis oscillations

FHT-ST-38-56

Continuous flow flexible liquid helium transfer line for use with all other ST and STVP cryostats (including ST-500-UC), including:

  • 20 in long, 0.375 in diameter delivery leg
  • 56 in long, 0.5 in diameter withdrawal leg
  • 72 in flexible section and 0.06 in OD inner helium line
  • Vent hole in withdrawal leg 33 in from end to prevent Taconis oscillations

Custom SuperTran line. Vacuum insulated flexible line to transfer liquid from storage Dewar to apparatus.

Vacuum

NW25 evacuation port on all transfer line configurations

Recommended maintenance: evacuate transfer line with a turbopump capable of 10-6 Torr for a minimum of 12 h when performance degradation is noticed
NOTE: The use of liquid nitrogen makes any vacuum degradation more visible, requiring more frequent maintenance
