Lake Shore to highlight MagRS system for materials characterization at MMM conference

Lake Shore Cryotronics at MMM 2026Lake Shore Cryotronics, a DwyerOmega brand, will be at next week’s Magnetism and Magnetic Materials (MMM) conference in Honolulu, Hawaii discussing the benefits of its MagRS system for magnetic material characterization and other measurements.

Available in 4- or 7-inch electromagnet base configurations, the MagRS offers a modular approach to magnetometry-based research. When used with the 8600 VSM measurement option, it offers:

  • Ultra-high sensitivity down to 15 nemu
  • 1 T/s field ramping and up to 10 ms/pt data acquisition rates
  • Real-time FORC (RTForc™) software for enabling fully automated FORC data acquisition
  • Options for characterizing at temperatures as low as 4.2 K and up to 1,273 K

In addition to the VSM option, the MagRS can also be ordered with options for ferromagnetic resonance (FMR), Hall effect, and electron transport measurements.

Separate from the exhibition, during the 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday Rare-Earth Permanent Magnetic Materials poster session, Jeffrey Shield of the Univ. of Nebraska–Lincoln will present on “First-Order Reversal Curve Study of 3D Printed NdFeB.” This poster, summarizing the work of Shield and Univ. of Nebraska–Lincoln researcher Sudha Krishnan and Lake Shore’s Cosmin Radu, Brad Dodrill, and David Daughton, shows how FORC analysis and the MagRS with 8600 VSM measurements can be used to characterize additively manufactured permanent magnet samples.

Also at MMM, Lake Shore will be available to discuss:
