Lake Shore has developed metal mesh technology for use in band pass and narrow band pass optical filters. These filters are designed with patterned, cross shaped holes that allow the transmission of light at specific wavelengths. |

Filters have been developed with center wavelengths from 15 µm to 200 µm with peak band transmission of 84% and out-of-band transmission as low as 0.5%. These filters have been successfully cryogenically tested down to 4 K and measure less than 1 mm thick to allow easy placement into existing filter wheels, cryostats and electro-optic assemblies. |

Initially developed for NASA, Lake Shore’s band pass and narrow band pass filters can be used in a variety of applications including:

- Ground or airborne based astronomy
- Space based astronomy
- FTIR spectroscopy
- Terahertz spectroscopy
- Electro-optics research and testing

12.5, 19.0, and 25.0 mm diameter filters are currently available from stock in many different center wavelengths. Alternate sizes and custom designs are available upon request. Depending on quantity and performance requirements, delivery is approximately 8 – 10 weeks. |
