Block noise, improve signal detection

Typical Applications

  • THz and FTIR spectroscopy and materials characterization
  • THz device characterization and testing
  • THz and millimeter wave imaging/security
  • Ground and space-based astronomy and astrophysics
  • General electro-optics research

Features and Capabilities

  • Precision frequency selective surfaces (FSS) with high spectral resolution
  • Narrow pass bands with excellent transmission
  • Pure gold filter element for best results
  • Designed for use in cryostats and adjacent to cooled detectors
  • Compact and lightweight
  • Superior performance with “stacked” configurations

A full transmission profile is provided with each filter. Measured center wavelength (CWL) and full width half max bandwidth (FWHM) are included.

Readily Available and Proven to Perform

Lake Shore’s BPF Series band pass filters are specifically designed for applications where precision and dependability are paramount, especially when used in extreme environments. Over 100 standard models include four common aperture sizes and over 25 center wavelengths (CWLs) spanning from 10 to 590 µm (about 500 GHz to 30 THz), making these filters readily available to researchers who want to avoid custom engineering charges and get on with their work without delay. Originally developed for NASA and qualified for the SOFIA stratospheric telescope program, the BPF Series filters perform very well under harsh environmental conditions including extreme cryogenic temperatures, thermal cycling, high gamma radiation, vacuum/pressure cycles and vibration.

Manufactured entirely by Lake Shore in Columbus, OH, these filters are available without restriction for everyday applications and classified programs. More about BPF Series filters...
