National Top 10 for Growth
Delaware County cracked the top 10 fastest-growing counties in the nation, Warren County ranked 45th and Montgomery County continued losing residents at a clip matched in Ohio only by two other counties, according to newly released Census population estimates.
Delaware County has been among the nation's top 25 fastest-growing counties since 1996, but its estimated 6.1 percent gain for the year ending July 1, 2002, made it the 10th fastest-growing among U.S. counties with at least 10,000 population. The county, which is just north of Columbus, gained an estimated 7,174 people to reach 125,399 during the period.
