​Explore Lake Shore’s Advanced VSM Technology at IEEE Joint MMM/Intermag

For the latest updates on vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) technology and capabilities, stop by booths 8 and 9 at the 12th Joint MMM/Intermag Conference, held January 15 to 17, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Chicago, IL. Lake Shore, a world-leader in VSM technology, will be highlighting their most recent systems and displaying the capabilities of advanced VSM technology. Product experts Dr. Cosmin Radu, Applications Scientist for Lake Shore, and Brad Dodrill, VP of Sales, will be on hand to answer application-specific questions concerning VSM systems.

New materials being developed are pushing the limits of electromagnet-based VSM systems, and Lake Shore is driving the effort to develop systems that meet these new demands. The combination of high sensitivity and precision electronics, flexible software, and variable magnetic fields and temperatures results in the most advanced electromagnet-based VSM systems available.

Lake Shore VSM systems are used to characterize the DC magnetic properties of materials as a function of magnetic field, temperature, and time. They are available in three different variable gap electromagnet configurations, providing fields up to 3.1 T, with temperature range capabilities from 4.2 K to 1,273 K (-269 °C to 1000 °C).

Lake Shore will additionally be featuring its line of magnetic sensors, instruments, and systems, including gaussmeters, Helmholtz coils, magnet-based cryogenic probe stations and Hall effect measurement systems. Stop by the booth to see Lake Shore’s Model 425 gaussmeter, designed for use in the permanent magnet industry, and a selection of hall probes.
