 Description
 
Lake Shore's new 7400 series Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) is the most sensitive VSM available today. This VSM features a noise floor of 1 x 10-7 emu at 10 seconds/point sampling, 4 x 10-7 emu at 1 sec/pt. and 7.5 x 10-7 emu at 0.1 seconds/point. In addition to providing the lowest noise floor, this VSM's patented technology leads to a stability of 0.05% per day which surpasses the stability of any other commercial VSM. Models based on variable gap 4", 7" and 10" electromagnets are available providing field strengths to above 3 tesla, and variable gap magnets allow for easy reconfiguration of the magnet gap to accommodate large samples to 1".
 
Comprehensive Windows software featuring multi-user levels, experiment profiles for extended unattended operation, automatic parameter extraction and more make the Lake Shore VSM a state-of-the-art magnetic measurement system. A sliding head assembly with quick disconnect sample rod allows for easy, fast and reproducible sample exchange.
 
Anisotropy measurements are facilitated with automated sample rotation and vector coils allowing for torque curve determinations. An optional cryostat that operates with either liquid helium or nitrogen provides for variable temperature measurements from 8K to 425K, or 80K to 425K, respectively. An oven option is also available for elevated temperature measurements from 305K to 1273K.
 
Lake Shore's VSM systems can measure all types of magnetic materials in bulk, powder, thin film, single crystal, and liquid form. In addition to measuring hysteresis M(H) loops, torque curves, and temperature dependent magnetic properties, isothermal and DC demagnetization remanence curves may be recorded under full software automation.
